Jean-Claude Reverdell becomes Artema's new president

On September 26, 2019, Jean-Claude Reverdell - CEO of Sew Usocome was elected President of Artema for 3 years.

Artema's Board today comprises 15 industrials representing each sector of Artema.

Following the end of the term of President Didier Sepulchre de Condé elected on September 30, 2016, Jean-Claude Reverdell, currently CEO France of SEW USOCOME, a member company of Artema, was elected Artema's new president on September 26, 2019.

Jean-Claude REVERDELL, mechanical engineer, studied in France and Germany. He has held managerial positions in various companies whose parent company is located in Germany. With over 25 years of experience in the field of drive systems, he joined the SEW USOCOME group in 2008. He first held the position of Commercial Director, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer France in January 2015.

The SEW Group is a major player in the industry of the future. Jean-Claude Reverdell is convinced that the use of the new technological bricks of industry 4.0 will enable French companies to promote operational excellence and thus develop the industry in France. Inaugurated in 2015, the SEW USOCOME factory in Brumath was among the first companies to be labeled "showcase of the industry of the future" in France.

"Artema, the trade association of mechatronics, plays a leading role in this technological breakthrough and in the development of digitization in the industry" according to Jean-Claude Reverdell.

Industry Confidence in Europe

Edegem, 4th January 2018: The Grand opening of the Global R&D Centre for gearbox of Sumitomo Drive Technologies (SHI) in Edegem/Belgium on 4th January 2018 marks the start of the 95 years celebration of Hansen Industrial Transmission N.V.

Shaun Dean (Vice-President Sumitomo Drive Technologies) and the management team from Japan celebrated the opening of the new Global R&D Centre. The opening is a clear signal for the continued commitment and trust of SHI in Europe as a globally attractive production place.

AGMA celebrated their 100 years anniversary with EUROTRANS

EUROTRANS president Tomaso Carraro hold a speech about the European Drive Technology Market during the AGMA 100 years celebration in Amelia Island, Florida. (11th-14th May 2016)

He thanked AGMA and especially Joe Franklin in the name of EUROTRANS for his great work and the good relationship between AGMA and the European associations of power transmission.

Joe Franklin was retired after 25 years successful work in behalf of the American Gear Industry.

The AGMA Board has named Matthew E. Croson as its next President. Croson has more than two decades of leadership and communications experience in manufacturing trade associations and most recently served as President and CEO of the Adhesive and Sealant Council. He will replace Joe T. Franklin, Jr., who is retiring in June after leading AGMA for 25 years.

EUROTRANS looks forward for continuing the good business relationship to AGMA and wishs Joe Franklin all the best for his retirement.

Successful Training Session - No Fear of Gears: gear production for beginners

Zurich, Switzerland:

The first session of a two-day EUROTRANS training session entitled ‘No Fear of Gears’ took place in Zurich. More than 35 participants from seven different countries, including Belgium, answered the call of their Swissmem colleagues, with trainers from Switzerland and the UK.

In addition to the in-depth five-day EUROTRANS training sessions, the goal of this session was to give workers from companies that produce gears, gearboxes and related systems an introduction to calculating, developing, producing and examining gears.

Tomaso Carraro appointed new President of EUROTRANS

Bari, 26 June 2014 – The 2014 Board Meeting of EUROTRANS, the European Committee for Power Transmission Engineering, was the occasion to appoint new Board roles for 2014-2016. Tomaso Carraro, Vice Chairman of Carraro Group, and Chairman of Assiot was appointed President.

 

 

EUROTRANS – Specialized gear training on geometry and design: continuing a successful tradition

June, 2012 - After the success of the Eurotrans Gear Training in 2010 and 2011, EUROTRANS, the European Committee for Power Transmission Engineering, organized the third edition of this specialized training on gear design and engineering in 2012. The first training session is still open for registration and will take place from 15th to 19th October in Munich.

The European Power Industry will recover with a plus of 10%

The European Power Industry will recover with a plus of 10% and reach nearly the result of 2008 in the year 2011  - EUROTRANS Training Sessions will continue in 2012  

On invitation of the Swiss Association of Gears and Transmission Elements within SWISSMEM, the European power transmission engineering industry held its Board meeting on 3rd November 2011 in Zurich, Switzerland. 

Theo Maas, EUROTRANS President and CEO Mechanical Drives, Siemens AG, I DT MD, described the situation in 2011 for the European power transmission industry as a very positive development, even if the European situation is still volatile. Nevertheless some European power transmission companies have already reached the results of the very successful year 2008.

In 2011, the European power transmission industry (without bearings) will reach a plus of 10 % to more than 13 billion Euro. For 2012, the industry expects a plus of 3%. "The conditions in our branch are still good. The atmosphere is positive and we are sure, that the growth will continue."

Theo Mass: "The European power transmission industry is still competitive to Asia and the USA because we have well educated people and great organized production processes."

Mai, 2011 - After the success of the Eurotrans Gear Training in 2010, EUROTRANS, the European Committee for Power Transmission Engineering, organizes the second edition of this specialized training on gear design and engineering. This English spoken training on master level is given in 4 different European Countries in order to guarantee the best trainers and facilities dedicated to gear design, engineering and manufacturing.

 

1st International Drive Technology Meeting - a great success!

The 1st International Drive Technology Meeting held on the 3rd April in Hanover was a great success. 100 participants from 11 countries enjoy this first global drive technology meeting. Managers from the leading power transmission companies of te world  attend this meeting, one day befor the opening of the successfull Hanover Fair 2011.
The paticipants gave a positive feedback and it was decided to continue this networking platform in Hanover 2013.

 

EUROTRANS supported free trade agreement with South Korea

Sector committees’ alliance letter on the FTA with South Korea, which was sent to President Barroso and high officials of the European Commission 29th June 2009.
