EUROTRANS European Drive Technology Summit 2026 in Finland: President and Vice-President Re-elected, Valuable Insights and Strong European Cooperation

The EUROTRANS Drive Technology Summit 2026 in Helsinki and Tampere once again demonstrated the strength of the European Drive Technology Network and the value of international cooperation across our industry.

The event opened with the EUROTRANS General Assembly Meeting, during which André Thuswaldner (NOVAGEAR SA, Switzerland) was re-elected as President and Lorenzo Cattini (Cattini e Figlio S.p.A., Italy) as Vice-President of EUROTRANS for a second term. Their re-election reflects the confidence of the European drive technology community in their leadership and commitment to further strengthening EUROTRANS as a platform for networking, market intelligence, knowledge exchange and industry cooperation.

The following day, delegates visited the renowned Subcontracting Fair Tampere, gaining valuable perspectives on current developments in manufacturing, automation, industrial innovation and supply chain excellence. The program continued with a visit to Katsa Oy, one of Finland's leading specialists in gears and transmission systems, where the group learned more about advanced production technologies, engineering expertise and innovative solutions for demanding industrial applications.

The day concluded with a festive dinner at the rooftop restaurant Pons, providing participants with an excellent opportunity for exchange and networking while enjoying impressive views over Tampere.

The final day was hosted by AGCO Power Oy and featured presentations and discussions on economic developments, workforce and skills challenges, emerging technologies and the competitiveness of European industry. Contributions from experts representing Technology Industries of Finland and Fraunhofer IGCV provided valuable perspectives on key trends shaping the future of the sector.

A particular highlight was the subsequent factory tour at AGCO Power Oy, which offered fascinating insights into modern engine production and state-of-the-art manufacturing operations.

EUROTRANS sincerely thanks AGCO Power Oy, Technology Industries of Finland (TIF), Katsa Oy, all speakers and contributors, and especially our Finnish hosts for their warm hospitality, excellent organisation and outstanding support throughout the event. A special thank you goes to all participants whose active engagement, valuable contributions and open exchange once again demonstrated the strength of the European Drive Technology Network.

Together we continue to strengthen the European Drive Technology Network and shape the future of industrial innovation in Europe.
